Our sailing experience programs are for a group of maximum 4 children OR a group of maximum 4 adults. Please select the number of children or adults and the date to make a reservation. By selecting the date the standard time for the program will appear. Dinghy sailing is a fun sport and a great new skill the learn. Come to Björkholm in the Parainen archipelago to experience sailing for the first time and learn the basic sailing skills. Participants learn the essential sailing skills on shore on our simulator. After the theory lesson we go to open waters and you will experience sailing. For the sailing experience with children from 7 to 14 years old we will use an Optimist. For teenagers from 14 years old and adults we are using a Laser. After the sailing we will end the experience with a soda or cup of coffee in our kiosk.
The total program time is 3 hours. We will be 1,5-2 hours on the water during the program.The program is planned according to the M/S Viken ferry times. Participants are under the guidance of the instructor and change shifts on the boats during the sailing exercises.
Participants should have appropriate clothing, such as sport shoes, wind proof jacket, rain jacket, cap and sun block. It is likely you will get wet by entering or leaving the water. A pair of changing clothes is recommended.
Prices
The price is 65,- per child under 14 years old and 90,- for teenagers from 14 years old and adults. The program includes the use of rental equipment, safety vest and a drink afterwards. The ferry to the island is free of charge.
Language
This program will be given in English or Finnish.
Changes and cancellations
We reserve the right to change the experience start and end times according the ferry schedule and weather conditions. The experience can be cancelled or postponed to another day in case the wind conditions are not suitable or unsafe for sailing. In case the experience is cancelled due to weather conditions, the paid experience fee will be refunded fully.
Cancellations made by the participants within 24 hours before the starting time of the experience will not be refunded. Changing the date of the experience to a date in the same calendar year is free of charge. After changing the date a cancellation will not be refunded.
